Marketing Overhaul

Now that we are fully back at work, we all have some ambitions for the next 12 months.

In business terms, these tend to include a new business plan combined with a Marketing Strategy to get these goals met.  It’s a fresh start and why not overhaul the marketing while you are at it.

Here are some tips as to how your marketing can help you achieve them.

#Identify your target audience

Where is your target market? Are you really selling your product and services to the whole world?  If not, identify who.

Is it business or consumer, or both?  What type of business and where?  Think about where you will connect with them?  In real time, social media? By reminding yourself of the audience you need to reach, this will give your marketing a new and maybe fresh focus for 2020.

#Remind the audience who you are and what it is you do

Has your area of expertise changed in the last 12 months?  Have you fresh skills that you aren’t yet marketing? Do you want to target a slightly different market?  Worth thinking about and including in the marketing campaign as these extra services are new revenue streams.

#Market trends and, yes, they matter

Are you aware of what is moving in marketing?  What are the drivers that are pushing marketing?  And are you using them to best commercial advantage? The algorithms alter and there are nuances to be aware of. Would a bit of training help? Now is the time to get a refresher course to correctly set your plan.

#Focus your plan on the problems your clients face

By focussing on what issues your clients face, this will allow new would be customers to understand what you can do for them. You recognise their issues and pinch points and only your product or service can solve this.  This will give you the opportunity to build on this throughout the year.

#Invite customers to try you out

In any marketing material don’t forget to include a call to action.  Tell them how to buy.

Make your marketing structured, logical and relevant.  Offer a no- obligation chat in the first instance.  We all need to be persuaded.  Good luck.
