Walking 50 miles non for charity – can it be done?
When?
On the 7th December, in a team of 3, I embark on a 50 mile non-stop hike yomp through muddy, dark fields in the Oxfordshire countryside. My team is taking part in the Tour De Trigs
How?
The Tour de Trigs is a yomp through fields in the Oxfordshire countryside to prove how strong you are. We are walking 50 miles. Non Stop. We will have to establish our route from the co-ordinates provided and transfer to an OS Map. En route, we have to find a number of check points in the correct order.
We will have to judge rests, loo breaks, food required and equipment needed, although before we begin we have to pass a kit check to ensure that we are each carrying enough crepe bandages, blister plasters, spare pairs of socks and waterproof clothing, etc and host of other items on the check list.
This is not a walk in the park. It will require determination, tenacity, on board loo roll and a goodly quantity of flapjacks.
Why?Â
I want sponsorship. Quite simple really. Please go to https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/CarolineMitchell22 to help.
I will be walking for two charities: NFBB, the New Forest Basics Bank, Lymington https://basicsbank.org.uk/ where the small but necessary food bank is moving to new premises and is searching for funds for the move. We are busier than ever.
And, Educaid India, http://www.educaidindia.org/ another small charity that provides education for forgotten children in a near forgotten remote part of India.
I would welcome your support and thank you.
